U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will soon be offering an eight-week online course titled "Effective Use of Social Media in POLITICS." The course will focus particularly on the popular social media platform, Twitter, where Trump has shown the world that one need not be a poet laureate to eloquently get his point across in 140 characters or fewer.
The president offered a sneak preview of some of the concepts his POLITICS course will offer:
(1) Tone is everything. "You want to be inviting, while also commanding respect," emphasized the commander in chief. "It's important to strike just the right balance between conviviality and professionalism."
(2) Be a CAPITALIST. "Capitalizing random words catches people's attention, and can also serve as a nice compliment to someone," Trump stated.
(3) Occasionally be a TOTAL CAPITALIST. 'While not to be overused, this technique says, "EMPHASIS!!!" like nothing else," noted Trump.
(4) Timing is critical. "Social media doesn't operate according to standard business hours," said Trump. 'If you really care about something, you should be tweeting about it at 3:00 a.m."
And what inspired President Trump to share his social media wisdom with the world - even with potential political opponents?
"Civic duty," said Trump. "Barack Obama made an invaluable contribution to the world of advertising when he won Marketer of the Year for his 2008 presidential campaign. Social media happens to be the area where I really shine, and I feel a similar responsibility to coach and mentor others who will follow in my footsteps. Essentially, it's an act of love."
Trump added that, as a one-time limited special offer, the first 100,000 registrants in his POLITICS course will receive early and/or absentee voting in 2020.
"It's the least I can do," said the president.
