Speaking from the Rose Garden to reporters today, Donald Trump congratulated Boris Johnson as his selection as Prime Minister of Great Britain. "I don't really understand what makes Britain great since they lost our colonies, but I think that's fine, I'm sure that everyone agrees that we all can...and furthermore we all support Boris Johnson being my very best poodle."
"How did he go from congratulating me to calling me his poodle?" laughed Johnson, good-naturedly, "Well, it is great to know that last ambassador to the colonies...er! I mean the United States, was dead on about the mental capacity of the "White" House, as they are now calling it," grinned Johnson, "I've not been called someone's bitch poodle before, but be sure I'll not be forgetting it!"
Johnson was asked if Britain would be falling in line to now work with the U.S. on providing protection to shipping through the Straits of Hormuz, "Let's put it this way, I'll not be letting any British flags near the Stars and Stripes in those waters. Let Mr. Trump see how his policies really shake out when it comes to coalition building."
When President Trump read the transcript of Johnson's responses to him, he shrugged, "I don't understand British accents very well, and there are a lot of big words in there."
