In a rare moment of bi-partisanship, Republicans and Democrats are united and their new found unity will have major implications for immigration policy and the U.S. labor market. According to Shiv Aalok, White House Minister of Truth, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has agreed to pass legislative that will provide President Trump unlimited funding for a wall along the Mexican border whenever the Republican Party controls the White House. In return, President Trump will sign companion legislation that will provided unlimited funding for removing the wall whenever the Democrats occupy the White House.
Apparently the compromise legislation has been underdevelopment for some time. The Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the White House Office of Economic Advisors, jointly developed an economic model. The model projects construction and removal of a 2,000 mile long wall will create full employment in the US in perpetuity.
"its not just construction jobs. There will be jobs galore, for architects, photographers, writers, video production, journalists, truckers, Make America Great Again hat makers, lawyers, you name it", said a beaming President Trump.
The legislation will appeal to everyone noted Pelosi. "The wall will be Green. It will be made by union workers, of recycled material only, carbon neutral, and include easy climbing steps to make it simple for immigrants to hop right over so they can get to work on time. It's a fair compromise."
Chinese leader Xi Jinping, appeared perplexed by American politics but did congratulated the US. "We built a wall and created jobs but it never occurred to us to take it down and put it up forever as a jobs program. Could be brilliant, but as Confucius say, "time is the test of greatness."
