Angela Maddock of New York City was intrigued when she heard about the new global currency recently announced by Facebook, which the company has been developing in secret over the past year.
"I've never once had the Facebook site go down, whereas sometimes I have trouble with my mobile deposit app for my regular bank," said Maddock. "That right there tells me something. These guys know technology."
It also means a lot to Maddock that Facebook has always been a free website. "The fact that they're not trying to make a profit off me makes me feel I can trust them," she said.
Overall, Maddock feels that it's only appropriate for the globally dominant social media network to expand into the world of finance. "After all, Facebook is all about connection. And really, when you think about, isn't money the number one way we connect?"
