MISSOULA, MON. Out on the campaign trail once more, US President, Donald Trump, said he had "nothing but praise" for Republican candidate, Greg Gianforte, who, last year, assaulted a journalist.
Gianforte was bothered enough by the Guardian reporter, Ben Jacobs' question about the Republican health care bill, he held him aloft, threw him to the floor, then bodyslammed and headbutted him.
Trump said:
"He's got MY vote - I'm even going to join his gym."
The president's comments seem a little insensitive, particularly in light of the situation regarding the 'disappearance' and possible murder of the Saudi Arabian dissident, Jamal Khashoggi, himself a journalist.
Gianforte is a former wrestler, who gave up the sport to concentrate on politics when he kept getting his head caved-in. He still keeps fit, however, and occasionally beats the shit out of someone much smaller than himself, just to 'keep his hand in'.
Trump later tweeted:
"My man, Gerry Giant, the pianoforté player! Beat the crap out of the journos!"
Gianforte said:
"I don't belong to a gym."
