Say it ain’t so, Joe! Is Donald Trump blaming Nancy Pelosi for the January 6th Insurrection? Maybe to wrap himself in the blanket of innocence and remove the deluge of evidence the January 6th Committee is presenting, Trump is claiming January 6th was all Nancy Pelosi’s fault.
Really! Nah. That’s a stretch too far.
Hold on. Donald now says that he, Donald Trump (the same guy in the White House who ate hamburgers and watched television all day), wanted to send in 20,000 members of the National Guard to quell the gathering of love (Trump’s original description of the mob riot).
But Nancy Pelosi said, “NO!”
Big problem: There’s no evidence of any desire, notion, or thought of a suggestion from Trump to send in one member of the National Guard to the Capitol, much less 20,000 members.
Fox News, that defender of truth, says Trump claimed such a request in February 2021, and he, Donald, was rebuffed by Nancy. As Donald Trump said: “Crazy Nancy Pelosi turned down the offer.”
That sounds like Trump.
“No congressional official has the authority to activate the National Guard to the U.S. Capitol but the president. If the president calls the National Guard to the U.S. Capitol, no congressional official has the authority to decline its service,” said Jane L. Campbell, president, and CEO of the U.S. CapitolHistorical Society.
So there! It seems Trump told another story on Fox News.
