ANKARA (Reuterus) - Military officials confirmed today that a unit of Turkish Very Special Forces (VSF) commandos have been granted the green light to conduct covert incursions into Kurdish-controlled Iraq.
"This represents a compromise solution to the nightmare scenario of Turkey sending a robust force into Iraq," said Baris Mancho, spokesman for Turkish think tank SAREM.
Turkish VSF commander Ahmet 'Special K' Kahveci acknowledged that his men are very excited about the opportunity. "Green means go!" he said. "We have all of our kit ready: our fanny-packs, our juicy-juice boxes..." he trailed off, distracted by a passing butterfly.
"I love these goofy bastards," remarked actor Matt Dillon, who has been training the troops for the past several months.
