It appears that comic actor Volodymyr Zelenskiy has just won the Ukrainian presidency by a landslide
Exit polls and street interviews seemed to sense a national mood typified by the comments of diesel mechanic Taras Yuvechko: "The United States and England have elected amateur clowns to lead their respective countries. Canada has elected a high school drama teacher. The Philippines has elected a really bad Clint Eastwood wannabe. The Ukrainian people, by contrast, have chosen a truly professional comic to lead them forwards".
Dr. Tadeusz Kowalski, dean of political science at the University of Lodz elaborated: "While it is true that political discourse of the past decade has trended towards 'Monty Python' absurdity, this has been an accidental side effect of the preponderance of idiots in positions of power. With the election of a highly intelligent leader who has honed his comedic skills to the level of an exact science, I predict unprecedented levels of hilarity in global political developments. I am personally getting my hernia stitches reinforced in anticipation of uproarious belly laughter in the months to come!"
