Police in London have made an arrest at the entrance to the Houses of Parliament, after receiving a tip-off that an MP was planning to enter the building armed with a knife.
The operation to apprehend the culprit was carried out away from the eyes of the public, and the police are saying only that "a man" is helping with their enquiries.
Speculation, at this stage, is rife, but many are certain that a murder was about to be committed, and this set tongues a-wagging as to who the victim might have turned out to be.
The Prime Minister, Theresa May, figured in most people's calculations, but others, including Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Diane Abbott and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn were also mentioned. John Bercow, the House Speaker, was on many people's lists, due to being such a twat.
Police say their investigation is continuing, but cover-ups are usual in cases of this nature, with a severe ticking-off the normal punishment.
