It's raining and it's pouring in Florida.

Sassafras failed. He didn't have his eye on the ball. While Hurricane Ian was approaching Florida, and meteorologists were warning of the hurricane's growing threat, Sassafras was busy flying desperate, frightened, homeless immigrants, who were escaping treachery, tricking them, and sending them to upscale compounds, states away.

Sassafras received high fives from his fellow Republicans.

Donald Trump even got into the Sassafras fracas, insisting that trafficking immigrants to upscale areas was originally his idea and that Sassafras stole that idea from him. An imbroglio began between the two allegedly adult Republicans—both dream of being the 2024 Republican presidential candidate.

Then Hurricane Ian landed in Florida. Florida citizens suddenly became desperate, frightened, and homeless in hours, escaping the treachery of winds and flooding.

Like magic, Sassafras turned into a no tie, open shirt, commiserating Governor DeSantis. He focused on Floridians. No more flying the desperate immigrants around the nation as a dirty joke.

Nevertheless, wasn't it perfect flying a planeload of immigrants up to upscale Martha's Vineyard, where former President Obama has a summer home?

Upscale also in both heart and mind, citizens of Martha's Vineyard welcomed the desperate immigrants with open arms, providing God-like food and shelter.

Climate change and urban development of wetlands will continue to draw hurricanes to Florida. However, a future governor focused on Florida could produce a positive change and protection for its citizens.

A focused Florida governor is needed and would be welcomed with open arms.
