Obama now says that he was misquoted by the media during the last election campaign and that his words were taken out of context. Obama claims that what all of this shows is the harmful effect on journalism that the cuts and downsizing at large American media companies have had.
Obama says that his campaign slogan was not "Yes We Can" but "Yes We Can (some conditions apply, offer subject to change without notice)". Obama is not happy with what already happened and he has been lobbying very hard for Hillary Clinton to sound more noncommittal this time and to limit her campaign slogan to "yes absolutely we can definitely look into it".
