The Irish government is seeking the extradition from the USA, to stand trial, of Ronald Trunk. Mr Trunk is alleged to have unlawfully retained an oversized ginger wig after the rental agreement had run out. Mr Trunk claims to have been president of the United States and that he was unlawfully run out of office by a corrupt Irishman, and has every right to retain the wig as it was given to him by the Pride Boys and the Loaf Takers while in office.
Lawyers for Mr Trunk in the USA claim that he is too busy preparing for an erection in 2024 to answer the Irish charges, and has a number of court appearances to make in the US relating to Jack Daniels, Stormy Capital, and making America gyrate again (for which he insists he gave no money).
In a further complication, Ryan Difficultaigh of Athlone has insisted the wig was his late mother's, and promised to Mrs O'Shaughnessy next door's cat.
