As news comes in the former Manchester City defender Micah Richards spends £200 a week on haircuts. One Manchester resident pays just £2 and insists it’s the best in town!
Jed Ollerenshaw, 18, from Ardwick, a town just one mile outside the city centre, said “I'm totally shocked about him (Micah Richards), I worked out that’s £24,000 a year just on haircuts, people round here don’t get half that in benefits!”
He revealed he used to pay £3.50, but since a new Turkish barber opened in the city centre in January, he's ditched them and hasn’t looked back.
Admiring his new look, standing in front of his full-length mirror at his council bedsit in Union Street, he told our reporter, “I'd been going to ‘Sizzer Handz’ ever since I can remember, but he put his prices up in December, but with the cost of living crisis and everything, I just couldn't afford the hike in charges, so I decided to give the Turks a try, and haven't looked back, to be fair, it’s probably the best haircut I've had, and it’s a £1 cheaper, result!”
