A leaked copy of George Osborne's draft Budget for next year has been found abandoned on a Virgin train travelling from his constituency in Manchester.

The draft budget has been graded by an as-yet-unnamed economics professor, notable by the heavy use of red pen, and the various corrections featured throughout. Comments by the professor included phrases like "must try harder", and "see me after the Treasury committee meeting".

At the end of the 30 page document, there was a short list of recommended texts for the next redraft which included: Economics - A Very Short Introduction by Partha Dasgupta, The Mass Marketing of Politics by Bruce I. Newman and various Margaret Thatcher biographies.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
