Fans of the Godfather series can expect the latest installment of the legendary saga to hit the big screen as early as spring 2013, reports have confirmed.
'The Godfather IV' will take place several years after the last installment of the series and will be based upon former the former Italian Premier.
Silvio Berlusconi, who is worth an estimated £7 billion, resigned from his post as top dog in Italian affairs amid a storm of controversy regarding his financial dealings late last year.
He had the following to say on the announcement: "I suppose this was inevitable given the fact that I am undoubtably the big boss; the top dog; the fat cat in Italian society."
"I sincerely hope my character is played by someone who is fit to play the role; George Clooney would be the obvious choice. Hopefully we can get something arranged."
Berlusconi has also demanded that the producers "get it right this time", unlike with The Godfather III, a film which the former Italian Premier would "rather die" than have to sit through again.
It is not yet clear to what extent Berlusconi's private affairs will be exposed to the public once the film is released.
Fans of the 75 year will be hoping to see the inclusion of the infamous "Veneto Incident" in which Berlusconi was claimed to have killed 12 men with an assault rifle. Whether this will be the case or not, one can only speculate.
