NEW YORK CITY - (Sports Satire) - The NBA Regulatory and Policy Making Committee has just decided that since NBA players are getting taller and taller, they have decided to make a change regarding the height of the baskets.
The NBA R&PMC, has approved raising the NBA basket hoops by 6 inches. They noted that some of the shorter players 6'2" and under will not be happy with that ruling since it may compromise their slam dunking ability; but such is life.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver pointed out that back in the 50s and 60s there was only one player who stood over 7 feet tall (Wilt Chamberlain), and today there are over 37.
SIDENOTE: Commissioner Silver also addressed the question about the practice of players flopping and acting like they have been fouled. He noted that habitual floppers will be fined $800 for the first offense, $3,000 for the second offense, and on the third infraction, they will be fined $25,000, and they will have to sit out a dozen games.
