BEIJING, China – (Sports News) - The Republic of Mexico has just won gold in the brand new Winter Oympics Snowman Making Event.
China’s Fortune Cookie News Agency reports that it is the first gold medal that Mexico has received in over 100 years.
Mexico beat out Norway, Russia, and Iceland to capture the gold.
One of Mexico’s athletes, Fernando Fernandez, said that he had been practicing making snowmen ever since he was a muchachito (little boy) of 6-years-old.
He recalls living in the state of Yucatan, where he would practice making snowmen and snowwomen in the huge walk-in freezer of his Uncle Esteban’s Muchos, Muchos Tacos Restaurant.
SIDENOTE: The government of Mexico is so thrilled and so excited that the entire Mexican snowball making team will be receiving the keys to their home town of Puerto Toro, Yucatan, plus each member will also receive 5 cases of Corona Extra Beer, and 20,000 pesos cash [$1,000 US].
