This is Basil Blathering of the Olde Church News. I have just re - read the novels by Ayn Rand-that Russian Conservative who became a great success story in America. The lady who believed Greed is Good and produces the best for the most people. Sort of the opposite of Christ.
I can see Liz Truss having read these books and agreeing with them.
Liz, like Ayn Rand, believes the business owners produce all the wealth and benefits-and the workers produce none. Workers are parasites on the Rich.
The business owners - many going to public or tax subsidized schools - using taxpayer supplied roads, electricity, buildings and preferential tax treatment-produce all the Prosperity - (all by themselves). The frequent economic crashes hurting the workers, well-just a little Exuberance by the Rich and the Corporations - soon repaired.
So, Liz Truss - Britain's new leader. following the ideas in these books, basically - will try tax cuts to solve all of Britain's problems. And possibly loosening regulation on businesses so they can attack the problem-(the workers))-better
Britain has aging sewers and plumbing. needs wind power to lessen power needs. And the whole country's houses need insulating and new energy efficient windows.
Normally, in most Democracies the national government would do these and put many thousands of people to work. But in Britain giving tax cuts to the rich and big corporations - (but not small businesses) - will solve these pressing problems.
At least that is Liz Truss's Idea and philosophy - The New Order.
Take the financial fetters off the Rich and big Corporations and they won't just keep the money - and grow it in speculative investments - but will spend it to make Britain a better place to live.
What a Happy thought.
Liz is either a Genius or Delusional.
The Trouble is to find out-British workers are going through some harrowing experiments and a lot of suffering.
But she's our Truss - for better or worse.
