Once upon a time being an inpatient, outpatient or visitor to hospital had its upside. I'm talking of course about those nurses in their candy-striped little uniforms with their starched white aprons and their tiny lace hats perched on top of their pinned back hair, finished off with black tights or stockings. Phew!
Of course, as a young man working in a London teaching hospital along with my male colleagues, apart from those "of an alternative lifestyle", it was always our intention and ambition to get inside those sheer black tights and have our evil way with nurses in full uniform. I can tell you quite a few of those young ladies were up for realising this male fantasy, whether on or off hospital premises, usually while on nights and in their 30 minute meal breaks. Wink!
So what is a sexy nurse wearing now? Pyjamas or shapeless trouser suits fully buttoned and zipped, anything to curb the male libido and to cap it all a lot of them are men too. WTF?
Speaking purely from a male perspective, I am sure that recovery rates would improve along with male staff morale if these sexy little unforms were reintroduced, but then again with the current obesity crisis, they might not.
