HOLLYWOOD – The producers of American Idol are high-fiving each other, as their idea to have all 20 singers perform in the privacy of their own homes hit it out of the ballpark.
The show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, said he was amazed at how smoothly the show went, as every performer adhered to the nation’s shelter-in-place policy.
The young contestants sang in the privacy of their homes, their apartments, and their trailers.
One contestant, a native-American, sang while self-isolated in her spacious tee-pee.
Lily Little Beaver, sang a song that was written over 160 years ago by the great Hunkpapa Sioux Chief Sitting Bull.
LLB wore a traditional Indian squaw's loincloth and accompanied herself on a Tom-Tom drum.
Another contestant, Titus Butterhorn, actually sang from the bathroom of his mobile home.
He told Seacrest that the acoustics were fantastic. Of course, he really should not have sung from inside the shower, as it did muffle his singing performance a bit.
Judge Lionel Richie, who was sitting in the trophy room of his Beverly Hills mansion, stated that he loved the fact that he could watch the performances while sitting in his boxer shorts.
Katy Perry sat in her food pantry wearing a full-body hand sanitizer box, which she would squirt from time to time.
And Judge Luke Bryan relaxed in the barn of his Georgia ranch as he sat on top of his favorite horse “Bucky Boy”.
Ling-Ling Yo-Yo, who was born in Hong Kong, sang from her kitchen while cooking dinner for her husband and 13 family members.
The only real glitch was when Moxie Lobo’s home fire detector alarm went off, after her three-year-old had lit a match that caught the cat on fire.
Right away Moxie threw her microphone down, and sprayed a three-liter bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper on little “Snuggles”.
The Persian cat was fine, but Moxie could not continue, since her toddler was crying like a crazed banshee.
American Idol’s ratings went through the roof, as the show easily beat the time slot’s competing programs, Amish Cooking With Egg Plants and Jalapenos and The Housewives of Intercourse, Pennsylvania.
American idol's sponsors Johnny Walker Red, Rolls Royce, and Hercules Condoms were all thrilled with the show's huge ratings.
