A shop you don't remember visiting has sent you a Christmas card.
The store, known throughout your small city for its bespoke furniture, small portions of food served in the onsite Cafe, unseemly grafitti art and very high business rates has sent a Christmas card to every house in the town.
'Wishing you and your family every good wish for Christmas, and perhaps 2023 is the year when you make the resolution to buy that new sofa you have had your eye on' reads the passive-aggressive text within the card.
Marketing Guru Bags o'Money said 'It seems a bit glib, and in these days of austerity, a bit of a mickey take, but you have to admire the shop's cahones'.
The local website ran a story the following day 'Due to an overspend in their marketing department, Hotchkiss Sofas and Soft Furnishings are now in administration. Their stock was always hideous'.
