Palin beats down on all her rivals

Google, Lycos and Yahoo search engines have revealed their most searched for terms for 2008.

With the American election dominating press around the world, Sarah Palin was undeniably the most searched for female on the planet, with the surprising news that "Sarah Palin Nude Photos" the most searched for in Google Images.

Other popular celebrities, like Hudgens and Cyrus, just could not compete with the Alaskan Bear Hunter's popularity. Not even Barack Obama could compete, as he came in at sixth on Google's list, behind Heath Ledger (the now deceased actor who played the Joker).

Lycos users have less interest in American politics, with Paris Hilton coming in as the second most searched for term, with Palin way behind in fifth, just ahead of Britney Speares and Holly Madison. Obama did not even feature in the top ten.

Yahoo's top ten showed the age gap of users of this granddaddy of search engines. Britney Speares was still topping their list, with Amy Winehouse and Kate Moss coming in at seven and eight respectively.

Away from people, the Wii Fit was the second most searched for term. The top search term across all search engines on the web was "porn". For the eleventh year running.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
