A Beijing woman recently burned her new husband alive for not washing his feet before going to bed.
Luo and Wang, originally from the central province of Hubei, were married on February 2. They occasionally fought, even during their honeymoon, over issues such as communism, beer, sex and feet. On March 4, the couple had a heated argument following which they drank together a bottle of Chinese liquor. Wang then went to bed without cleaning or washing his feet. Luo, obviously angered by his act and also under the influence of alcohol, set fire to the sheet on which he was sleeping. She later managed to escape to the living room, while her husband was engulfed by the fire.
Chinese police have since arrested the woman. Police chief Xinhua later commented on the incident and said that they suspected the woman to be from Tibet, though it's evident that she is from Hubei. He persisted on his point, and even accused Dalai Lama of having a hand in the issue.
Autopsy reports revealed that the man did not die of his burns or excessive blood loss, but because of lead intoxication. The 'Made in China' printed on the neck of the bottle made things crystal clear, confirming that the liquor contained dangerously high levels of lead. Authorities have thus confiscated all bottles of liquor currently in the market. Rumors suggest that they are planning to secretly export them to Tibet.
