A life-size milk chocolate Jesus on the cross is about to go on display in a New York Gallery offending...well, the people who are usually offended by this sort of thing.
However, one thing the artist and gallery hadn't counted on was the anger of Lactose Intolerant Catholics.
A statement has been released by L.I.C.
'To depict Jesus Christ in this fashion, all chocolaty and sweet, is bad enough. But to then suggest that Lactose Intolerant Catholics can no longer consume the body of Christ without receiving irritable bowel syndrome, is disgraceful. The love of our savior should not cause stomach pains.'
A number of more radical groups have also called for the statue to be remade using 'white chocolate'.
