US President Donald Trump has rebounded from the Democrats refusal to provide funding for the building of his Mexican border fence, by insisting that the UK government help to pay for it, hinting that, failure to do so might result in a shutdown at Westminster.
Trump remembers, all too well, the subservience paid to President George W Bush by the grinning mug of then-Prime Minister, Tony Blair, who, rolling around on the ground and grovelling in front of everything suggested to him by Bush, kissed Dubya's butt, whether or not it was in Britain's interests.
The US leader now thinks the current UK government - beset by chaos, as it is - might also 'roll over' and provide cash for his expensive whim. He tweeted:
"Am asking May to pay for the wall. If she doesn't, I'll shut down the Houses of Parliament. And Buckenham Palace too!"
