BILLINGSGATE POST: In a historic trade off that no one thought imaginable, Vladimir Putin agreed to allow Trump a fast track permit to build a “beautiful” golf course outside his dacha near Moscow in exchange for Ukraine.
With European leaders, including Zelenskyy, meeting in Washington with President Trump, the President unveiled his plans to build the first golf course in Russia.
Long considered a conflict of interest between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, golf has never been accepted as a recreational sport in the Soviet Union. It will be interesting to see if golf becomes more popular than doing swan dives out of hotel windows.
Not surprisingly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was less than enthusiastic about this deal which was done behind his back. But the group of European leaders were otherwise upbeat about the chance to increase the golf footprint in the continent, which they believed would further enhance Europe’s dominance in the Ryder Cup competition.
Trump held Monday’s meeting after his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, where Putin offered this concession to President Trump in exchange for Ukraine.
Trump, who already owns two premier golf courses in Scotland, jumped on the opportunity to expand his golf course holdings. The President concluded the meeting by gifting the attending World leaders an autographed copy of his seminal transactional book, “The Art of the Deal.”
