Is it just me or is America's flag getting a little smaller?

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has rejected loud calls for him to resign. Instead, in a classic piece of political nastiness, he has blamed everything on the person under him, his Chief of staff Kyle Sampson.

Similarly Gonzales apparently blames his children for a smashed window in his house which he walked through while drunk. The Attorney General feels no remorse for the groundings dealt out by their mother.

On Sampson, Gonzales read the standard script, insisting that he didn't really pay attention to what Sampson did around the office.

"I thought he just made me my coffee. I had no idea he was orchestrating the removal of prosecutors." Said Gonzales "Seriously, you think you know a guy."

It's a hard pill to swallow for Sampson, now that he has been fired, he has to sit in his office, with pay, until he finds another job - tough break.

However it's not all smooth sailing for Gonzales. Bush has thrown his full support behind the Attorney General. The last person to get this much support was Donald Rumsfeld.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
