When it comes to 21st century politics, one literally does not know what to believe so we are passing along some stories that we have heard about the impending Trump indictment and are working to track down additional information.
As many of you know, former President Donald Trump is on the verge of being indicted for paying Stormy Daniels to keep her mouth shut about their “affair” ahead of the 2016 election.
The charges against Trump were not brought by the Justice Department, which had decided not to pursue the case, but by Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District attorney.
Many, if not most observers, think that the case against Trump is weak at best. So, what is going on?
First, President Joe Biden is pi__ed. In fact, he’s really, really pi__ed about recent events. Biden may be well over the hill, so to speak, but he is still a cagey politician with pretty good instincts. He wants to keep up the hype about Trump being indicted---that make lots of people in his camp happy, but he definitely did not want Trump to actually be indicted.
An indictment is sure to fire up Trump’s floundering base and might very ensure that the former president will be the Republican nominee in 2024. That part doesn’t bother Biden at all. He knows that he can beat Trump. What bothers him is that a case like this makes it much easier for investigators to go after members of the Biden family who have done things that dwarf the payoffs to Stormy.
Who knows, some prosecutor might actually decide to come after Joe himself.
Second, Bragg had earlier decided not to pursue the case against Trump. Why did he change his mind? Was he paid off? Is he looking to run for governor of New York in four years when what Biden thinks won’t matter in the least? Or does he simply yearn for the publicity that drives so many public figures.
At this point, we don’t know, but the possibility of Bragg being “incentivized” by Trump himself should not be overlooked.
That might sound far-fetched, but just think, for a moment, how incredibly valuable the indictment is for Donald Trump.
It has be great for fundraising amongst other things.
As indicated, we will continue to pursue the matter.
So far, neither Rudy Giuliani nor Stormy Daniels has returned our phone calls—maybe they are vacationing together—but we will keep digging.
