Is this fool smoking?

LA - Young Andre got a hard lesson in parenting last week after his father, Tré, a member of the Bull Creek Street Gang, caught him smoking fools.

On Wednesday night, Andre was out on the town with his boys when one of them suggested they get some loosies from Kim & Jia's, and smoke those fools. Of course, thanks to numerous public service campaigns -- and more than a few trials -- Andre knew the risks. But Andre isn't the type to disappoint his boys so he went along with the plan. What he didn't know was that his father was watching as they entered the corner store.

"That youngin' got all teary after I confronted him so I knew he felt bad," Tré said, "but that wasn't enough. I wanted to make sure he'd think twice before stepping out of line again." And that is exactly what Tré did. When Andre returned home from school Friday afternoon, a whole pack of fools was there waiting for him.

Andre was, understandably, surprised. "When I saw them all lined up, I didn't know what was going on. I thought maybe Pops was preparing for his Spades night and him and his boys were going to smoke them."

That, however, was not the plan. Tré explained the situation to his son: "Take this and light 'em up, youngin'. Smoke them fools since you a big man now."

Andre didn't have much of a choice.

"It was hard, you know? I ain't never wanted to smoke so many one after another like that. Near the end, I even got sick." Andre looked down at his still-dirty shoes, clearly embarrassed by the memory. "Pops though, he just said, 'You wanna be hard, be hard.' So, yeah, he's pretty strict."

While Tré's methods might strike some as old-fashioned or even cruel, one thing is certain: it will be some time before young Andre smokes another fool.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
