After years of fostering creativity, the city of Nashville, Tennessee, decided to make its parental role official and begin the formal adoption process.
"We've done our best to nurture creativity through all its various stages," said Nashville Mayor David Briley. "We'll be proud to become legal parents."
Briley emphasized that Nashville's love for its truly foster child is unconditional. "We've got no agenda. We'll support creativity in whatever path or form it chooses. We just want the best for our child."
In the past, some have accused Nashville of pigeonholing its foster child into slick and flashy mainstream country music. Briley, however, denied this this characterization of the city's foster parenting.
"All kids go through phases," he said. "Granted, our dear creativity got a little obsessed with Taylor Swift for a while there, but that's only to be expected. We've branched out since then."
