Although it would be quite simple for her to meet her soul-mate and fall madly and passionately in love should she so opt, 38-year-old Brenda Meadows of Brooklyn, New York, is genuinely happy to be single by choice.
“It’s a decision I feel so good about,” said Brenda. “Even though I don’t date and most everyone I know seems to have a social life that revolves around home and family, I almost never get lonely. And I have so much time to do the things I truly enjoy, like reading. When the weather's nice, I'll even take a book to the park.”
Brenda added that she also has a lot of fun doing sudoku puzzles. "They're addictive," she said.
And although she’s not part of a couple, Brenda has no trouble finding extremely fulfilling ways to connect, such as through a local meditation center, where she gathers weekly with a large group of like-minded people so that they can sit together in silence for 45 minutes.
“It’s incredible how close you can feel to people you’ve never even exchanged two words with,” said Brenda. “It's inspiring."
Brenda emphasized that although she is open to meeting a life partner at the right time, she doesn’t consider her life lacking in any way just as it is.
“There’s nothing wrong with me,” she said. “I feel totally complete and have a life second to none. How many people can say that?”
