Covington, Kentucky - During opening arguments of the libel case brought by lawyers on behalf of a Covington High School teen against CNN and other news outlets, it was revealed that the individual in the viral video that was the subject of many news stories and twitter comments was actually Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, and not the student himself.
Taking the witness stand shortly thereafter, the allegedly slandered student explained that Shapiro had accompanied the group to its protest march, and was present when the teens were involved in a verbal altercation in front of the Lincoln Memorial with members of a Native American tribe and an African American political group.
"When the Indian elder approached us banging a tom-tom drum, we decided to have Ben Shapiro face off with the old man; he is really good at smirking at liberals, climate scientists, college professors and Democrats, anyone he doesn't agree with. We just stood behind and did the tomahawk chops", testified the Covington student.
Lawyers for CNN immediately moved for a mistrial.
