Although the United States government’s historic 35-day shutdown will soon be coming to an end, because the financial repercussions of the shutdown have done irreparable damage, the government has announced a going-out-of-business sale.
Vice President Mike Pence stated, “We had a good run, but a smart business owner knows when to call it a day. We're going to do our best to recoup what losses we can."
As part of the going-out-of-business sale, the White House will be sold at auction to the highest bidder. It is speculated that President Donald Trump aims to purchase the edifice and redevelop as condominiums.
Trump did not deny the rumors. “Even when times are tough, there are opportunities,” he said. "I hope that struggling Americans can learn from my example."
