President Donald Trump's tweets went silent at midnight when Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey deleted Trump's account. Despite rumors that Dorsey was reacting to Trump's government shut down because congress wouldn't fund his border wall, Dorsey had another, more damning explanation.
Dorsey tweeted: "Social Media has been the victim of falsified accounts that may well have changed the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Twitter and other social platforms have therefore removed thousands of phony accounts. The president's was among those deleted because of his close association with those who have run fake news stories and bogus commentaries since 2015.
"We at Twitter suggest that if Trump wants people to read his stuff then he should send it to The Spoof."
