NEW YORK - Fox News announced today it will be sponsoring and broadcasting a new entertainment awards show on Sunday, February 22. Dick Cheney is the host, Donald Trump is the show's producer and Ted Nugent is the musical guest.
Fox bills the show as the first annual Take Back America Awards Show. Executives of the network hope to provide an alternative to the existing slate of awards shows featuring left-leaning, attractive, and mostly underweight performers.
Categories for awards include Greatest Biblical Epic, Most Patriotic Pro-Torture Documentary, and Coolest Anti-Climate Change Documentary.
Musical categories are Best Conservative Words Put to Really Good Song and Famous Politician Turned Bass Player, which Mike Huckabee is expected to win.
Ted Nugent is scheduled to receive a special lifetime achievement award for those two or three hit songs he had 40-some years ago.
The comedy category winner will be Dennis Miller until another conservative comic becomes famous.
The Achievement Award for a Lifetime of Ignorant Comments will be given to Senator James Inhofe.
Advertising for the program mentions a surprise guest, which everyone thinks will be Sarah Palin. Karen Jones, a producer not associated with the show, stated the obvious, "She can't let an opportunity for publicity go by without participating."
