Weatherman Martin Briggs has revealed that the degree in meteorology he has had made him no more able to predict the weather than the average weather app on a mobile phone.
To the people of Mithering on the Trent he is a familiar face and voice, telling people to "wear a coat," or "take an umbrella," but times move on, for all of us.
"Yes," said Martin. "I feel that I could have been anything else, and I would have been of more use to the world. It is sad when you can be so easily replaced by an app on a phone."
