A new high speed rail link between Treorchy and Craig - Y Llyn in Glamorgan has been approved. Development of the provision of transport to Wales' Heritage sites and in particular places of post-glacial phytological significance has been a priority of the Welsh Tourist Board in the last 5 years. A list of these fascinating sites can be obtained from The Museum of Wales.
Buses crammed with tourists have been arriving at Treorchy unable to get to the post glacial peat bog near the northern edge of the Glamorgan plateau and have frequently found themselves stranded and having to listen to Male Voice Choirs or Dylan Thomas recitations. Currently there is only a minibus link every other Saturday morning.
The new rail link will cost 10 billion pounds cash up front and be completed in 2085.
