Bog Wars: The latest exciting peat bog finds will be discussed at a four-day conference taking place in the Caledonian Hotel, Edinburgh.

Travel and Tourism Representatives from across the EU will be among the 60 delegates. The event, which runs until Friday, will be held in Thurso and at RSPB Scotland's reserve at Forsinard in the Flow Country.

The Flow Country is believed to be the largest area of blanket bog in the world, extending to 1,544 sq miles (4,000 sq km). "We will get an estimated 50 million visitors per year, the same as Yellowstone National Park and Las Vegas, eclipsing the 26 visitors per annum visiting Wales's Depressed Peat Bog near Aberystwith", said Alexi Salmon this morning.

Midges: "Our problem has aleays been a constant plague of midges in the area but we have got a lot of those ant-midge sprays which we buy in for 50p and sell for £16.45 a pop. We expect to make a killing on after bite balm at £20 a tube too".

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
