Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals once hit a foul ball that was clocked at 219 miles per hour.

NEW YORK CITY – (Sports Satire) – Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred has just reported that the incidence of fans getting hit by foul balls has been greatly reduced.

Manfred told ESPN-4, that injuries to fans from foul balls went down 900%, which, he said, saved Major League Baseball at least $4.7 million in lawsuits.

The commissioner did note that there were 87 reports of foul balls hitting cardboard fan cut-outs. But, he added, hey, it's just cardboard, so who gives a damn?

In another baseball related story, MLB has informed the Atlanta Braves organization that, even though the season is over, they will be required to remove the naked cardboard fan cut-out of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which is located directly behind home plate.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
