Hull City manager, mealy-mouthed Nigel Adkins, was full of praise for his players despite their 0-2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Adkins told reporters:
"They've given everything out there
I'm pleased with the performance
We're not quite there yet
I saw some potential in our play
We had a plan, and stuck to it
The luck wasn't with us
We looked dangerous in places
On another day, we could have had all three points
We've worked hard in training
We've been dogged by injuries
We're in a false position in the league
Their goalkeeper's had a blinder
We just haven't had the rub of the green
The ref's not done us any favours
We've played one of the form teams, and matched them for nearly the whole 90 minutes
Our build-up play was good
Two lapses of concentration have cost us
We don't deserve to be in the bottom three
We could have had at least two penalties
Jumpers for goalposts
It was eleven against eleven out there
We took the game to them
We started brightly
The players kept going until the final whistle
We've done everything but score
We'll pick ourselves up, and go again on Tuesday"
The final score at the KCOM:
Hull City 0 Nottingham Forest 2
