Thousands of protestors protesting in Russia against Putin? No one saw that coming. Rally against Trump, yes, but Putin? Not a good idea.
The feeling was that Putin had Mother Russia safely under control and under his thumb, what with the threat of high buildings and open windows lurking in the background.

Putin is having a look-see. A sure bet, Putin won’t be asking Trump for any advice. Doesn’t need any advice. Putin will clear the streets not with mounted police, but with tanks, with turrets, that can slowly turn in circles, pointing their smoking barrels at Russian protestors. Will the barrels fire?
It's doubtful. A Russian to fire on fellow Russians? Nah, Russia has a history...
Ded Moroz is coming to town...
