Friday 30th March: Good news at last!

Monday 26th March:
Topic: David Cameron - NHS
Dementia is a national crisis like HIV and cancer, says David Cameron
Source: The Telegraph
The Prime Minister is likely to argue that dementia is a "scandal" being ignored, as he unveils a doubling in funding for research into the illness to £66 million by 2015.
In a speech in central London, he will describe dementia as a "quiet crisis that steals lives and tears at the hearts of families". Sufferers of dementia, which causes the mind to deteriorate, currently fill a quarter of all hospital beds.

Comment: 'A national crisis like HIV and cancer... says Cameron. What about unemployment, immigration, and crime? Are they not a national crisis?
Does he even know these problems exist?
Is he a rich uncaring, nepotistic, spoon-in-the-mouth old Etonian snob? - Sorry a silly question that last one, of course he is!

Tuesday 27th March:
Topic: Fuel delivery driver strike
"Petrol Strike to Cripple Britain"
Source: Express.co.uk
Britain faces being crippled by panic buying and empty petrol pumps after tanker drivers voted for strike action yesterday. More than 9 in 10 of the UK's forecourts - around 7,900 - are expected to close after the 2,000 drivers who earn about £45,000 a year agreed to walkouts.
Fuel prices could rocket by 10 pence a litre - meaning it would cost around £80 to fill an average family car - and drivers face hours of queues at those garages still open.
In a grim reminder of the chaos during the fuel protests of 2000, when truckers blocked the crucial flow of petrol to the forecourts, motorists were warned of the threat of rationing.
Food prices are also expected to soar as most deliveries in Britain are made by road.

Comment:Britain faces being crippled... nothing new there since the Coalition came to power then!

Wednesday 28th March:
Topic: Political scandal - Donors - Nepotism
"William Hague wined and dined three multi-millionaire Tory donors at his country mansion"
Source: The Sun
The Foreign Secretary hosted the fat cats at grace and favour pad Chevening. He is the fourth Cabinet minister to be sucked into the cash for access scandal - after the PM, Deputy PM Nick Clegg and Chancellor George Osborne. Ex-Tory leader Mr Hague entertained the party's biggest donor Lord Ashcroft twice at his Kent mansion.
The peer gave the Tories almost £5million from 2005 to 2010. Financier Howard Leigh dined there twice and property tycoon Malcolm Scott was also a guest.

Comment: Well, Hague is the richest member of all the Government ministers, he likes to entertain men, although usually in a hotel bedroom, Ffion his wife is a millionaire in her own right, and they do seem to have difficulties in producing children. So I will not make any sarcastic comments about him. Life must be so hard for them, bless their little blue-blooded hearts!

Thursday 29th March:
Topic: Cameron lies - Budget - Hot food
"Cameron's claims that he last ate a pasty at an outlet of the West Cornwall Pasty Company at Leeds station were quickly exposed as untrue!"
Source: Mail online
David Cameron became embroiled in a pasty tax fiasco yesterday when he was apparently caught telling fibs about his love of the hot snacks.
The Prime Minister spoke out following public anger at the Chancellor's decision to slap a 20 per cent VAT surcharge on hot pasties sold by high street firms such as Greggs.
He boasted that he loved Cornish pasties in order to seize a public relations advantage after critics accused the Government of being out of touch with ordinary people.

Comment: Really interesting photo's at the source link - nepotism, photo-opportunity taking, and ingratiating too!

Friday 30th March:
Topic: Bradford By-election
"George Galloway wins Bradford West by-election"
Source: The Guardian online

Comment: Hopefully this will make the big boys have a rethink? (Nah!... maybe not!

Saturday 31st March:
Topic: Education - Immigration
"Illiterate Britain: Scandal of one in 5 adults battling to read and write"
Source: The Sun
The staggering total means up to Eight Million are so poor at reading and writing they struggle in their daily lives.
In a devastating condemnation of our education system, they have difficulty reading a medicine label or simply using a chequebook. And filling in a job application with any hope of impressing an employer is beyond them - which costs the UK economy £81Billion a year in lost earnings and increased welfare spending.
The bill is the highest in Europe - twice that of Germany's and three times the drain on France's purse.

Comment: i supose it is a bit sad thut peupole ar strugling like innit?"

Sunday 1st April:
Topic: NHS - Charges
NHS Prescription Fees rise to £7.65
Source: BBC News
Health Minister Simon Burns outlined the changes earlier this year, and the government says exemptions mean 90% of prescription items are dispensed free.
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society campaigned for a freeze and says the rises are completely unacceptable.
Dental treatment costs will also rise.
There are no prescription charges in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
The cost of a prescription payment certificate (PPC), which is valid for three months, will remain at £29.10 and the price of an annual PPC will be held at £104.

Comment: I wonder... if a hot poultice is supplied, will Cameron be adding 20% VAT to it?

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
