Officers hope parents or relatives of the trio will recognise them.
The CCTV recorded the three boys, who were aged between 10 and 14 and wearing hooded tops, in the area at the time.
One of the boys can be seen throwing stones at the building.
Witnesses, or anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, are also asked to contact police.
Those who can help are asked to call Notts Police on 101, quoting incident 374 of January 17 2012. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, which is free and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
The CCTV can be viewed on the Notts Police profile on the video website Youtube.

A Father who killed a burglar by attacking him with a meat cleaver was "justified", a Notts coroner has ruled.
Steven Shaw and his brother Craig broke into a house in Morrell Bank on the Bestwood Estate, Nottingham on March 31 last year.
In a "harrowing and brutal" attack, which lasted between 10 and 15 minutes, they assaulted taxi driver Xiaopeng Wang and his wife, and also left the couple's baby injured.
The violence only stopped when Mr Wang found a meat clever and hit Mr Shaw with it, causing a "sharp force trauma" to his head.
Comment: Nothing Wang with that decision! Best news I've heard in months!

"Nottingham Imam jailed for sex attack on two boys"

Yazeid Osama Aqqad, 24, of Alfreton Road, Radford, touched one boy when he was sitting on his lap on two occasions and abused another boy after inviting him to sit on his lap.
The mother of the two boys has been "vilified" by the Muslim community for reporting the assaults, Nottingham Crown Court heard.
She has been subjected to "a number of unpleasant incidents" including an episode at her home and damage to her car, Sarah Knight, prosecuting, said.
The mother told the court she felt the acts were aimed at encouraging her to withdraw the allegations because in the eyes of the Muslim community, she had committed a sin.
Aqqad denied the offences during his trial, but was found guilty unanimously of three allegations of sexual assault on a male child under the age of 13 years.
Judge Andrew Hamilton disqualified him from working with children and ordered him to sign the sex offenders' register for life.

"'Sleepwalker' rapist is jailed"

A Newark man who claimed he was sleepwalking when he raped a 17-year-old girl has been jailed in what is thought to be the first conviction of its kind in England.
Zack Thompson, 20, maintained his defence for two-and-a-half years before finally entering a guilty plea following a persistent and thorough investigation by Nottinghamshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
He handed himself into Newark Police Station on his return to the UK after the victim made a complaint to police.
Thompson was today (Thursday 29 March) jailed for six years in what has been called a 'triumph for the British legal system' following the longest ever running case at Nottingham Crown Court.

"Criminals tampering with Nottingham cash machines to cheat customers"

The first problem was discovered at a machine in Derby Road, Lenton, on February 13.
On February 22 a cash machine in Arleston Drive, Wollaton, was tampered with.
A third report was made in Sneinton Drive, Sneinton, on February 25.
The location and date of the two later incidents have not been confirmed.
Sergeant Jeremy Ellis warned people to be vigilant when using machines at shops and banks. He sent a message on the police neighbourhood alert e-mail system saying: "Before you use the machine, please ensure that there are no loose wires showing and that the keypad appears intact and not loose.
"Also check that the slot where the cash is dispensed hasn't got a cover as this is used to stop the cash coming out. Please ensure that you are aware of any people that may be hanging around when using the cash machines - Generally the offenders will come back to the machine fairly quickly to collect the cards or cash.

Couple had 56 dogs crammed into their home with five kids

A husband and wife with five children, kept 69 animals, including 56 large dogs, as family pets in their semi-detached home, a court heard.
When the RSPCA raided the house where James and Nicola Hood lived with their young family they were "swamped by a sea of dogs" in the living room.
In addition to 56 dogs, including huskies, German shepherds, rottweilers and Staffordshire bull terriers, they found three cats living in the bathroom, six birds in various dirty cages and four chinchillas.
They also found one of the couple's children, just nine months old, in a bed with sheets soiled with bird droppings, the court heard.
Hood, 40 and his 31-year-old wife, admitted nine animal cruelty charges at the Magistrates' Court.
Sentencing was adjourned to a hearing next month and the couple were released on bail.
