Coach Walz appeared desperate and honest, determined to save the children, the workers, the nation, democracy, and the planet, tackle global warming, and stop U.S. women from being treated as farm animals.
However, snake oil salesman Vance said everything was perfect under Donald Trump's administration and even better once Kamala Harris left Washington, D.C., and headed back to San Francisco.
The coach/Governor Walz had the numbers and facts; salesman Vance had the smooth, slick sales pitch. When stumped for a concrete reply, like tricky Dick, the snake oil salesman resorted to mentioning his children and wife, all of whom, he assured for no particular reason, were described as just beautiful. Sure.
Finally, did Vance believe that Donald Trump lost the last election? He did not say yes. Furthermore, he implied that January 6 was an expression of democracy in action, and in other words, big so what? After all, there was a valid transfer of power, and the Biden administration was sworn in on January 20.
Oh, so deliciously smooth. Absolutely yummy.
Yes, there was a transfer of power only because Donald Trump's insurrection failed. It didn't work. Almost ten police officers died attempting to stop the Capitol break-in, many more were injured, and the building trashed. Yes, President Biden was sworn in on January 20, but there was still blood on the concrete steps of the Capitol.
And what does Donald Trump promise to do if re-elected? Arrest and prosecute every general or person responsible for not stopping the vote count on January 6 and halting his insurrection attempt. Remember, Donald Trump also has his Supreme Court in his pocket.
Let's see. What does coach Walz have? Justice.
