"I don't think I'm winning."

Like his good friend Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin is a slow learner. After invading Ukraine, his military remains at a standstill, and his Russian flagship Moskva was hit by Ukrainian missiles and sank in the Black Sea.

So Putin's next move? The guy is threatening Lithuania, Sweden, and Norway. He seems to love losing battles.

Lithuania shrugged off Putin’s threat to deploy nukes to the Baltic. It appears Russia already has nukes in the Baltics or maybe not. Putin also threatened Sweden and Norway if both sought to join NATO. Sweden and Norway had a thumbs-down attitude toward joining NATO until Putin invaded Ukraine. Smart going, Vladimir.

And guess of who thinks Vladimir Putin is a genius? Who says Putin is a savvy guy? Trustworthy? Yes, Donald Trump. The same guy who early in his administration asked whether Norway was part of Russia.

Maybe Canada could also receive Putin’s evil eye if Canada decides to send a missile defense system to Alaska. Canada borders Alaska and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said, "I can see Russia from my kitchen window."

While Putin is failing in his attempt to turn the clock backward by resurrecting the old, repressive Soviet Union with threats of nuclear war, he is destroying present-day, western thinking Russia.

Starbucks, Levi jeans, and Schindler's List ended the old Soviet Union.

Putin could have been a successful and progressive Russian leader like Yeltsin or Gorbachev. But instead, he’s shrinking, spinning in circles like a Tasmanian Devil, around and around, until he reaches his tiny, little, "poof".
