Amazing news for all fans of cartoons everywhere. Hanna Barbera, the makers of the Scooby Doo franchise, has revealed their plans to bring one-time member of the British Royal Family Meghan Markle into the Scooby Gang, where she’ll go on adventures with Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scoob!
It’s believed that a talent scout was approached at the recent Oscars ceremony by Prince Harry, Meghan’s current husband, who said that his wife “does voice-overs”. His exact words were “please, please, please” and he followed the scout around the theatre until he agreed to audition Meghan. However, the audition went so well that the former Suits actress is now signed up for a whole series of 22 episodes.
Meghan will be cartoonified by a great, big laser-like machine, and turned into a cartoon character, where she will meet the Scooby Gang at a sleazy diner, claiming she is running away from her in-laws. They will immediately take pity on her and offer her a ride to Vancouver, but will get on all sorts of exciting escapades on the way, including running away from the Royal Goblin, the Media Hyena, Scary Dad and a host of other frightening baddies, whom the gang, including Meghan, will run from, hide from, and eventually uncover by the end of each show as the least likely suspect in disguise. Meghan will portray herself as a spoiled brat who thinks she’s better than everyone else, and keeps nagging everyone about the climate, despite damaging it herself with unnecessary flights to meet famous actors and singers that she’s never met before, and won’t hang out with the rest of us.
In the first episode, it has been revealed, she will even trade in the gang’s signature Mystery Machine for a four-cycle rickshaw, to save the environment, making Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy pedal, while Scooby (who isn’t built to use a bicycle) eats burgers, and she gets her hair done in the back.
Meghan won’t be the first person to be cartoonified and added to the show. In season 13 episode 16 of Supernatural, brothers Sam and Dean were turned into cartoon characters and forced to mingle with the Scoobs and solve a mystery.
Fans of the show are ecstatic at the news. However, a spokesman for Buckingham Palace tweeted “WTF?”
