The RSPCA has been brought in after the discovery of the Duchess of Sussex tied to a maple tree in British Columbia, looking worn and haggard, and with a sad, handwritten note in her mouth.
The note reads “Sorry, we couldn’t look after Duchess anymore, please take care of her”.
The discovery was made by a man walking his moose, who said “I’ve never seen anything like it. The poor Duchess was just sitting there, terrified. At first, I thought I’d had too much Labatt’s to drink, but when I wiped my eyes, she was still there, looking up at me with those big puppy eyes.”
Meghan Markle has been the subject of considerable news attention in the past few days, after Prince Harry decided to step back from royal duties and maybe take her with him to start a new life in North America. However, nobody believes that he is responsible for this act of gross cruelty.
A spokesman for the British RSPCA said, “We are shocked that somebody would do this. Meghan was scared and hungry, and clearly misses the palace that she’s used to. We urgently need to find not only a good home for her, but also the person who abandoned her.”
The spokesman added that, unfortunately, Meghan does not have an ID chip.
