One-time celebrity Scott Baiao was, in 2016, a formerly famous person who once had a small role in a popular TV series, and then a starring role in a non-network, syndicated project. Still clutching at any hint of fame, he managed to wrangle an invite to talk about his “friend” Donald Trump.
While giving a standard boilerplate speech, Baiao plagiarized poet Langston Hughes’s poem, Let America be America. Recently, candidate Joe Biden paraphrased the idea that Baiao had originally plagiarized from Hughes. This has caused Baiao to attempt to intimidate Biden and his campaign (from a safe distance, of course) by accusing Biden of plagiarizing the phrase that Baiao plagiarized from Langston Hughes.
Will Baiao plagiarize Hughes again? Will his next speech be titled, Night Funeral in Harlem?
