Two Titans of the music world, Sir Elton Hercules John and Mr. Noel Gallagher, have agreed to come together to record a live album in front of the 100,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium, before this season's FA Cup final between their respective favourite teams, Watford and Manchester City.
John, whose earlier offer to appear on his own was snubbed by the FA, approached Mr. Gallagher who was, by his own admission, "sat at 'ome, doin' nowt", and suggested the money-spinning scheme.
The pair have been working on songs for a week, and have already penned a stirring tribute to their footballing heroes, called 'Candles In The Wind'. The song is a rehash of an earlier Elton tune, the title of which currently escapes me.
Gallagher along with his band, the High Flying Birds, has just released his latest single, 'Black Star Dancing' to critical acclaim. Bernard Manning said:
"Worra loada fucking shite!"
