Mumford & Sons are a British band formed in 2007. The members are Marcus Mumford (lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums), Ben Lovett (vocals, keyboard, piano, synthesizer), Winston Marshall (vocals, electric guitar, banjo) and Ted Dwane (vocals, bass guitar, double bass).
Their brand of "music" is supposedly folk rock, but banjo and double bass? Fuck off. Dreary, boring and repetitive...and those are the good songs.
Mumford & Sons have somehow released four studio albums and issued three live albums: Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire, Please Don't Boo Us Off (2011), The Road to Red Rocks, Cover Your Ears (2012) and Live from South Africa: Dust and Thunder, Don't Run For the Exits (2017).
The band has won a number of music awards throughout its career, the Brit Award for Best British Album in 2011, a Mercury Prize nomination and six overall Grammy Award nominations. They received eight total Grammy nominations for Babel and won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. The band also won the Brit Award for Best British Group in 2013. Incredible.
These are the lyrics from one of their best-sellers, I Will Wait for You
#'Cause I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you
And I will wait I will wait for you#
Ad infinitum....I rest my case.
